LIFEdance!
This process, developed by Sara Boas, uses improvised creative movement and rhythm as a metaphor for everyday life interactions.

LIFE dance! is transformational. In each dance, we learn, we change, we heal. The dance releases our innate creativity and opens up a space in which we become more fully ourselves. Participants are guided gently into awareness of the small dance inside all of us, preparing the ground for letting movement grow. Graceful or angular, a wave of the hand or a wild stomp, every move is just right. During the LIFEdance! workshop we create a safe, supportive and fun atmosphere in which each of us can dance alone, with others, and as part of a wider community. We work with eclectic world music and live drumming.

LIFEdance! can help to develop the skills of remaining in tune with oneself while being in relation to others and the group. In this context, the LIFEdance! group is the community. Participants experience the voice and visibility of being in the centre of the circle as well as the experience of being part of the circle giving support, and consider how this relates to life in the community.

Space is provided for reflection and to allow participants to assess their own skills and think about further learning needs.
